Class Forum

I would like to stress that the class forum is a form of communication amongst us when we are unable to discuss about it in school. The forum is currently still in development (please bare with us) and we would promise that once the forum has been fully implemented, it would be very helpful to everyone in the class.

Therefore, I would like to tell Jonathan not to go around the class taking polls on how much the different students like the forum, in other words you are discouraging them from joining the forum. As for the rest of the students that do not usually go into the forum and also for those that have not registered, I would tell Ms Teo to remind the class.

The form teachers and subject teachers will also be invited to join the survey so that they can communicate with us if they need to urgently (i.e. inform us of last-minute changes). Hence, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys can stop "spamming" and making rude remarks on the forum [definitions below].

This forum will be in effect from now till the end of the school year (I do not know about next year if you guys still want it). I would like to seek your cooperation in this matter.

BTW, the poll has been an effective way of knowing what the class feels about the forum. How does it discourage them unless I show them the results of it?? Only Neil and maybe yourself know the poll results!! I feel that the poll helps to understand what everyone is feeling about the forum. Even though it is a development forum, I feel that Neil and you and the committee in-charge should get feedback to improve it! Besides, this forum has been around for some time and you may have problems later if you do not get the support of the rest of the class. If you and Neil, for example, are the only 2 on the forum, the forum would have been unsuccessful! Pls clarify abt this. I feel real upset.....

That is the point. Already, before I got to them, they did not even know a forum exists/the forum is not worth going to! That is exactly the reason why I started the poll!!!!!!!!!!! Fabian, I have always felt that this forum may have problems. I started this poll to get concrete evidence to prove it.

You are assuming that everyone will join...

By right, all of them should join, because if the teachers need to tell the class something urgent, they will miss out on it. It is also really important because many people can clarify things that they can't in class either because that there was insufficient time or either the students were not paying attention. Don't worry, just as long as you have joined, you are save.

Yes, actually. If they do not want their inboxes to be cluttered, just click the link in the e-mail (stop watching the forum). After that, they would not receive any more e-mails from the forum. Thank you for your feedback

When there is a new topic, like there were yesterday, the new topics would be sent to them. As such they cannot prevent getting cluttered by the new topics....

I guess that is true as not everyone can be depended on to come on the forum by the next day. I think they most likely will use Discovery@RI instead.

not true as well. For example, I check Disco0very@Ri like 1 time every week but this more than that...
